now this is a serious question,my daughter is 3 months pregnant and a care worker,tomorrow she has got to go and care for a lady who contacted mrsa in hospital.please does anyone know if it is safe for her to go there im not treating people who have mrsa like lepers but was just womdering with my daughter being pregnant thanx in advance..................

From what I heard on the news recently, it can be contracted via open wounds, unclean hands and also the nostrils.

If she was to take extra precautions then there would be lesser chance of her contracting it, but if it was me, I just wouldn't be taking that chance.

I certainly wouldn't go.

Not unless I had my antibacterical wipes, lotions, a space suit and oxygen tank on my back.

MRSA is so rife, that I sure it must be an airborne germ!!!

Hi stokemaveric , I would definately say don't do it , I 'm sure whoever does care for this patient will be gowned , gloved and masked , and take all precausions , but I would keep a pregnancy free from any risks . I hope your daughter will say no :) xxx
