Well, tough.

I didn't actually get the 'Mum = NY Deli person" thing, but now people have pointed it out to me I do see it.
but it is not natural when compared to the millions of hetero relationships,
Depends how you define 'natural' really. There's plenty of evidence suggesting homosexuality is a biological phenomenon, which would make it 'natural'. Of course, it's got lots of flaws, but there's still plenty of it.

If I know something is gay, like a Derek Jarman film, or Brokeback mountain, I avoid it. I have no objection to anyone else seeing things like that, or doing things like that. it is just not for me.
My objection is that my choice NOT to see this kind of thing has been removed.
Anway, I shall be doing something about by not buying any Heinz product for the duration, so the advert has hardly worked has it - even tho their beans are the best and the caramelised onion may looks nice.

The 2 kids don't seem to mind having a male "Mum". If this is such a terrible situation, why have the kids been awarded to a gay couple. Doesn't say much for the biological mother. Would people prefer it if it was 2 women? Yes, there are a lot of gay priests. Isn't the church hypocritical? When homosexuality was illegal, many men became priests just to hide the fact from their families and to avoid being thrown into jail, like poor Oscar Wilde!
Has no-one else noticed it's Robert De Niro?
Do you see? Robert De Niro, one of the great screen tough guys, pretending to be a mum of two making packed lunches and kissing the husband goodbye!
It's funny! It's not promoting homosexuality any more than Mrs Doubtfire was. That was really a man in a dress you know...

It isn't Robert De Niro.
There didn't need to be a kiss to make the premise of the advert work (i.e. a New York deli man as the mother) so it's obviously in there for "shock" value alone.
Personally I don't have a problem with the kiss but I don't see why Heinz decided to make the sauces "gay" as they obviously have. Maybe it's because women do most of the buying of these products and are less likely to be put off by the advert, I don't know.

i think its a good advert and funny, and it made me remeber that when i next go to the shops i will buy some of the onion one, and lets face it thats just what they set out to do. postdog do you not think youre cutting off your nose.... the advert is set to run for 5 weeks unless of course you get enough people complaining to the advertising watchdogs and get it banned. ive seen worse on tv, adverts for xbox games of people fighting and killing each other is that ok then?
