labour ducking the vote
i see labour are not putting up a candidate for the davis by-election
because they know they will be hammered again
has there been a previous time that labour have declined to partake in an election?
good old labour democracy
the eu treaty, you wont vote our way so you cant vote
by-election, you wont vote for us so we wont give you the opportunity
wouldnt it be wonderful if labour decided to behave in the same way at the next general election!

The government won the 42 day debate in parliament, they don't need to prove anything.
At the 1997 election, Labour contrived not to field a candidate against the discredited Neil Hamilton in Tatton. The Tories los that to Martin Bell.
Davis is only harming his leader and party by his selfish self promtion.

Labour are not putting up a candidate because they realise what a huge "look at me" farce this whole thing is. If winning a nonsensical, non-competitive by-election with an even bigger majority massages David Davis' huge ego a bit more, good luck to him.
Don't get me wrong - I'm no fan of this government, but I recognise a vanity trip when I see one.

I imagine the turn-out will be very low indeed. Unless someone captures the popular vote (I can't see Kelvin Mackenzie doing that), then Davis will be returned, but he will get far less votes than at the last election.
Poor Cameron will have to explain how the Tories have lost votes in a one horse race. That can only work to Labour's advantage.
