urgent - help to clean PC images.

I was trying to download some images for backgrounds for my PC, wallpaper.

But one of the downloads, had loads of images that is not legal

I will not say waht they were, but i am sick to my stomach and have actually vomited up.

I want to know, how i can clean the images out of my computer. I have deleted the folder but i have heard that once an image has been opened, it will always be on your PC unless you do a full hard disk erase.

I dont want to reformat my entire pc but i just wish for these horrible images to be completly gone from my PC and so that they can never come back.

They are probably also in your temporary internet files so make sure to get rid of them from there.

Unfortunately deleted files only have their entry in the disk's table of files. The data is still there. It won't come back by itself but it can be found by forensic techniques.

I believe that once you have deleted the image from your temporary internet files, if you do a defragment it will almost certainly clean your HDD of this stuff.

according to mcafee site advisor, the link is a red link and wont allow me to go to it.

as for defrag, i will try that.

you've been badly misinformed .... you can never, ever, ever fully erase a hard disk - whatever you do ... if someone was determined ... they could almost certainly recover just about anything.

however ... a genuine mistake ... not repeated - if you've deleted the image ... cleared your explorer cache

I just do not want my children to come on here and find those pics of dead bodies. Why would anybody do such thing.

Can i ask, does anybody know any good website, where i can download (not torrents - thats where i found those grusom pics) 1280 x 1048 images for my desktop wallpaper? I was looking for space stuff, aviation, etc... but what i did have, i deleted due to those images.
