Sir Alan Sugar has made it pretty clear that he is not ruling out standing at the next London election.

On that basis, should another series of The Apprentice be commissioned as there is a danger that he uses these as 'adverts'?

Such programs are to raise his profile and earnings.

Maybe he wants strings of hotels as Trump & towers
OH,,,,and the ubiquitous bimbos?
another quick fix putting Suger as Mayor,,, London regarding crime is gone apst repair ,. someone like him , can improve , Public transport , etc ... but for crime , (1968 the rivers of Blood ..its here today in 2008 )
I hope so, I hope he get's in. If we had politicians like Sugar everywhere, not just London, you know , who've actually had to make it from scratch in the real world , tax would be sweet FA.

There will not be another Mayoral election for another 4 years. There could possibly be a conflict then, if a series is being broadcast while he is campaigning.

Boris had known for a year that he would be a candidate. It did not stop him writing his newspaper articles and appearing on TV, so it should not stop Alan Sugar if he decides in the future to be put forward as a candidate.

Boris incidently, continues to write for the Telegraph. Do you think the voters of London knew he would be carrying out is Mayoral duties on a part-time basis?
Sir Alan should definitely stand for Mayor.

Boris has shown us that people will almost certainly vote for you if you're inordinately rich and they've seen you on one of those entertainment shows that appear on the magic lantern in the corner of the lounge.

Laurence Llewelyn Bowen might want to have a go as well.
dont think alan sugar lives his life around , his bbc tv series ..politics and mixing with his hoity toity frre mason associates , is a lot more important , than the apprentice , eventually he may tell the bbc - to sod off ...
john leslie foe mayor of london ?
LAW_DROP-OUT, you certainly has a way of connecting with the Great British public.

I nominate you for the next London Mayorship.
peter stringfellow ,,,, he has his finger in a few pies , and his finger in other places ,,, lucky sod (stringy hes a good british example )
Oh I think we'd need a special series with Sugar, Boris and Livingstone all being woken up at 6 am and being asked to formulate an integrated transport policy in 6 Hours while Nick and Margaret suck their teeth at them!

Possibly Paxman in the big chair.

Now that I'd pay money to sere!.

noknowledge, I'd bet that your contribution HAS a meaning.
Perhaps you could use English in future, please ?
Teddy Ruxpin for mayor!!!!!!
The question is irrelevant, as there won't be another election for a while. A lot can happen between then.
There would only be a problem if he were to make such broadcasts within the official election period which is about four weeks before the election.

Other than that he can do whatever he likes.
