rov1200.... where did you get the noption that local authority workers get a "gold plated pension" from ? The vast majority of the workforce are women earning not much miore than the minimum wage. They would have to work for 40 years to earn a pension that would equate to half their wages.That is nowhere near being gold plated. Check your facts!!!!!
Rov 1200 - Gold plated pension people are not on strike. To get a gold plated pension you have to earn a gold plated salery and none of these people do.
These people who are very impotant in there own way to sanitation, education, health are some of the lowest paid people in the country.
Some earning the gold plated sum of �6 per hour.

rov1200..... Dig deeper. Whilst I dont deny there are overpaid fat cat managers and the like on mega salaries and thus on gold plated pensions, these are not the people on strike. For every fat cat there are hundredas of thousands of very poorly paid people working for the local authorities who are struggling on their low wages. Some of them would be better of staying at home and claiming benefits. Wake up and smell the roses. Have a look at the job vacancies at your town hall. 2.45% of what the majority earn is next to nothing.
