Now they have managed to get the BBC to launch an investigation into accusations of bias towards muslims on the BBC's Asian network.
A point in question is, why since we are now a multi-ethnic nation, does the BBC operate a network specially dedicated to Asian's? (although I don't think the Chinese are included).
One would presume that immigrants from Eastern Europe also pay a licence fee to the BBC, so why have they not got a network of their very own also?

Quite glad that they do have a separate station - means that the main stream radio stations don't play it.
so why have they [Eastern Europe]not got a network of their very own also

Poland seems to be dominated by 'Western' music

anotheoldgit, can I ask you a favour.
Can you not buy the Daily Mail for a month and by another paper (Times, Telegraph, Guardian).
You may then realise that everything the Daily Mail prints is not always the "truth" and not always the "news".
The Daily Mail is very good at taking a minor news article and blowing it up out of all proportion, particularly if it applies to asylum seekers or immigrants.
If you bought another paper for a month then the number of "questions" in this section would probably drop by half.

VHG if you don't like it don't read it, or even better post another question of your own...
AOG raises a decent point, all you read about in the papers, on the TV news is about the trouble with Muslims, but there are in this country Sikhs, Christians, Hindus and Buddhists who don't get a look in nobody asks them what they want, what they need. A few months ago there was a show on TV called "Make Me A Muslim" (I think that was the name, I've slept since then) I asked on here at the time is there going to be a folow up with other religions? The answer's no, or at least not yet.
The question is about the Asian network (a network for Asians) the complaint is that it's overly represented by and for the Muslims to the detriment of other creeds, I don't listen to it so I don't know.

Erm, no the complaint is exactly the opposite:
At least 20 past and present BBC employees, all Asian Muslims, have lodged complaints that its digital radio station, Asian Network, is operating with an anti-Muslim policy.
They claim Muslim presenters and reporters are sidelined or sacked from the station, which began 12 years ago, in favour of Asians from other backgrounds mainly Hindus and Sikhs.

Why does the BBC operate a network specially dedicated to Asian's?
Would you sooner Asian listeners tuned into Radio Islamabad or Radio Tehran for their entertainment?
There are 2.3 Million British Asians in the UK. A very large market that the BBC wants. As a national broadcaster, it is a good sized group to aim its programming at.
Should we take the Anti-Muslim allegations seriously? Yes, if listeners do drift off to foreign stations they are subjected to religious and anti-west propaganda.

For your information I do not buy the Daily Mail.
If I stopped asking questions linked with the Daily Mail, then the posings on this site would go down in numbers. Free people enjoy free debate, and it is only free people that are allowed free debate.
The reason the Daily Mail is the most popular newspaper, is because It prints items that the public would not normally get to know about.
This is the reason why it upsets some people, who are of certain political leanings. It is these persons who would love to convince people, to only read the newspapapers that met with their approval.

The Daily Mail isn't the most popular newspaper. The Sun is. Does that make Murdoch an even more courageous champion of the truth?
The latest ABC figures:
The Sun - 3,089,321
Daily Mail - 2,231,120
"It is these persons who would love to convince people, to only read the newspapapers that met with their approval."
Well, that's the pot calling the kettle black... Or as you probably say "calling the kettle a ni**er".
