Where to stay in Prague?
6 Answers
Me and 2 of my friends are off to prague for the weekend shortly. We want to stay pretty close to all the action/attractions. Can anyone who has been to prague, tell us where to stay? Which district? Is Wenceslas Square a good place?
Thanks

Wenceslas Square is central but I think quite expensive for food and accommodation because it's very touristy.

Try the Leonardo which is a short stroll to the Charles Bridge and very central but on a quiet backroad. Excellent local restaurant nearby is the Konvict. The Leonardo is a small boutique hotel with great bathrooms and was new when we went in 2004. Stay out of Wenceslas Square it really is not nice at all.
We went last year and stayed at a newly furbished hotel called Icon Boutique. It was fantastic. The staff were amazingly friendly. I even received a birthday card from them earlier this year signed from all the staff. I know its only pushing the hotel as its new, but I would recommend it to anyone., We have posted a review on Trip Advisor under the name Troy52 if you want to read it amongst other good reviews. The beer there is so cheap and tastes great. Good luck
I stayed here and it was a great hotel.

It's just back from Wenceslas Square but in a nice quiet place with some great and much cheaper little bistros and a pizza place near it (round the tourist areas it is a lot more expensive). Definitely saves you some pennies.
There is also a little shop and the post office just down the road.
We walked everywhere in Prague from there as it's not that big a place.
If you want a fab meal experience then there is a great restaurant on the castle side of Charles Bridge overlooking the bridge which is just amazing at night on the heated patio.
It's the less expensive looking one of the two (though they are owned by the same people I think).
