how is it that an ancient civilization can predict what happens on each date?

is it possible that these so called 'aliens' actually came to earth and told the Mayans what was going to happen in the years to come? or did the Mayans understand the celestial movement so well that they actually predicted the future?

how as a civilization able to be so understanding of the stars that they can even predict when these 'UFOs' actually come to earth.

i was watching a show called UFO Files and it said that the Mayan calendar not only predicted the Solar Eclipse but also that there would be a visit from the 'Friends of the Stars'

how can an ancient civilization predict that? maybe aliens did visit the Mayan civilization. Maybe these 'Aliens' come to visit us or maybe they come on certain dates. did they tell the Mayans?

Video from the solar eclipse shows a fleet of these 'UFOs' hovering in the sky. maybe these 'Aliens' come for big events like that too or maybe these 'UFOs' were trying to show us a symbol with their crafts? it could be possible, i wonder if scientists took the time to look that over. If not, than they really should now because if they did form a signal or sign with they're ships, maybe there is a deadline for what they told us.

The ancient Mayan pyramids were constructed with such perfection, it makes you wonder if these 'Aliens' helped the Mayans create these, and maybe these pyramids have a secret hidden somewhere in them. maybe they are a signal. who knows?

i want your opinion on this subject? and if you believe that somehow the world will end on December, 2012

I have a calendar that ends on 31st December, 2008. Does this mean that alien spacemen visited the printers?
Video looks like amass balloon release to me.

People have been predicting the end of the world since it began. I guess one day they will be right but I can't see it being in our lifetime.
As for the calendar ending in 2012. I assume as they are no longer around that 2012 was ample time for them.

At work, if we want to say that something goes on indefinitely, we would post December 31st 4000 into the computer system but we don't think that the world will end in the year 4000. It's just that to us, 4000 is more than enough time in the future.

I somehow doubt that future generations will look at our computer system and predict that we knew the end of the world!
Do post back on here to let us know if your computers are still working in 3999, squarebear :-)
I don't think the world's going to end in 2012 either, but I DO think that old planet Earth's far older than scientists believe, and that maybe man's been around for far longer than we think. The Mayans weren't the only amazing people. Look at the ancient Egyptians, who built in a similar manner to the Mayans, and with great accuracy. Other astounding relics of ancient work are still to be found, dotted around the world. Whether you believe in aliens or not, the theory IS possible, but we'll perhaps never get to the truth.
Is the end of the world near, coming? Few individuals are convinced the end of the world is due on December 21, 2012, when the “Mayan Apocalypse” starts. However, the disaster industry and certainly the tourism industry in Mayan areas are definitely enjoying the advantages of the event monetarily. Mayan Apocalypse contributes to booming disaster industry</a> . Everyone has their own ideas and opinions to share. It is up to you if you will believe in it or not.
