McCain or Obama?......The singer or the song?
5 Answers
Who will be the next President of the USA? I can't see the American public voting for Obama. McCain is representative of middle America. And he was a Vietnam veteran, ex POW. Obama seems a bit too confident, some may say radical. Nope. Sorry, but I think McCain will get it. Is it the singer or the song? In Britain these days it would seem to be the singer but I don't think it works like that in the USA. Am I wrong?

However, one has to understand he's been active as a U.S. Senator for only 173 days total and has ties to 1960's radicals as well as people of less than savory reputation in his hometown of Chicago. His campaign has been based largely on two things... the Hate Bush Crowd (HBC) and, more importantly...any questions about his lack of experience and some extremely liberal tax and spend philosophies are met with counter attacks of racisim rather than addressing the legitimate concerns... We'll see... I know this is a great mystery to Europeans and Brits and it has become even worse for us since the preliminary choosing of candidates by either party has become nearly a two or three year event and by the time the general election rolls around (November 4th) we're all just weary of it...
You may have a point 10cs. on this side of the pond Obama is nailed on at the bookies unfortunately the European Psyche is unable to separate their hatred of bush and the republicans from the equation and look pragmatically at the situation, and they are easily seduced by the whole liberal "black bloke in the WH" thing.
I don't think it's as cut and dried as some are suggesting and the gloves aren't off yet, wait till the republicans start digging the dirt, be prepared for the whole "Mohammed Obama" jibe, 12% of the US think he's a Muslim, I think the republicans may use that!
Clanad, what's the betting odds over there? Here they have Obama at 2/5 and McCain at 7/4

anyone that thinks the u.s. public have a choice is very naive. they have two teams, i repeat two teams, and they both answer to the same corporations that own all the news networks that feed you all your noise. the grand plan is in place years ahead of time and the candidate, eventual president is placed ! rome is burning and for 21 months we've had the big deflection, red or blue, there has been no reality except hillary, osama or macain. but, at the very last moment we have a women from alaska that can fire a rifle, dress a moose, fix the energy crisis, save us from (so-called) terrorism, save the world, and raise five children and still run the country, give me a f in break!! people's lives are being ruined all over the word because of these corporations, and their news is blacked out at the end of an eight year term. just like when the lady, the dress and the cigar did with the demise of yugoslvia. this time it's iraq, afghanistan and the caspian sea basin. what's going on? usually when they're involved in a foreign election they can have a man in charge and a whole government setup in, let's stretch it a bit, say six weeks to two months or so? so what's the hold up.it's a f-ckin joke, their moral fibre is a joke!
