The Children II
Yes I know it;s only tv fiction - but there are kids out there that go through this, & much worse,,,, but my heart goes out to the 14 year old lad Jack. I want to slap his parents (seeing as though they're so keen & quick to slap) & take him home with me to look after.
What horrible parents. I don't think it will turn out to be Jack at all that was responsible for the girl's murder - but I bet he gets the blame.
Aww, love him. (In a very non-sexual way bytheway; I'm 46 for god's sake).

So many couples break up and form new relationships, taking on new families. Parents in the 40+ age group are selfish, wanting to lead their own lives and shirking their parental responsibilities for their own children in favour of their new family unit.
I've seen it happen with my partner's brother. He split from his first daughter's mother several years ago and has another child with his current partner. The first child rarely gets a look in anymore.

Well, I split with my children's father when they were 5 & 7 - I then went on to marry again to someone who had 2 children round about the same age. Divorce/stepfamilies are never easy - but I can honestly say we never treated our children like that - we were always careful not to slag the other party off or to make the kids feel unwanted etc etc.
I'm not saying they were not witness to some harsh things - that's life whether from a split family or not - but that boy Jack in the series is treated apallingly. It breaks my heart.
