Don't you realise this is a forum for spreading doom and dispondency and trying to pin it on the Government too!
And relating it to the EU - you're probably one of those pinko swine that wants us all eating garlic and drinking wine!
Hang your head in shame you unpatriotic brute!
I don't see how it affects us anyway - proper English people don't travel abroad - well not unless they're members of her Majesty's glorious armed forces - I mean they don't even have proper loos over there!

Over the last 12 months or so, the EU has got tough with mobile phone operators charging excessively for cross-border roaming charges a worthy cause, especially when you consider the excessive cross-border roaming charges, our Euro-MPs are paying.
The mobile phone companies only have themselves to blame for their short-sightedness. Had all Euro-MPs been issued with a complimentary mobile phone, with unlimited talk-time, downloads & texts, none of them would have had the slightest idea that members of the general public pay for this service.

And they got tough with Microsoft for anti-competetive behaviour.
Can you imagine the UK government (of any colour) getting tough with any big business?
The press work very hard to keep positive EU things out of the public eye. Like 6 years ago when they tried to equalise the cost of diesel across Europe.
A big wave of public opinion then would have got it through but no it got killed.
You've probably never heard of the EIF (the European Investment fund) which supplies venture capital to entrepreneurs who can't get cash else where. Britons are large recipients of this.
Biotech startup firms are getting EU grants, there are EU organisations like Eureka helping companies run European R&D.
Not just large scale stuff either.
Half the cost of putting overhead powerlines underground in my village was met by the EU - Any signs proclaiming this - not a hope - I just found out by talking to the workmen.
It's a real pythonesque - "What has the EU done for us" thing going on.
And all the anti-Europeans are getting played for saps by the business interests running the press who look at the EU standing up for consumers and enforcing regulations and don't like what they see.
Wise up Geezer you're being manipulated by the press!
