Yesterday at Manchester at the Labour Conference Sarah Brown introduced her husband, she was wearing greyish jumper style top costing �350 a black skirt �400 high heeled shoes �129 total cost �879 quite an ordinary outfit at an extraordinary price. Would pay for two Laptops that the Government promised deprived families! Could buy similar outfit in the High Street for a fraction of the cost!!

Maybe everyone that works in the public sector should be given food, lodgings and a uniform rather than money of their own.

It could be argued that Sarah Brown IS supporting the economy while at the same time promoting middle-range designer goods as she is wearing items designed by a young Scottish designer. Many would see that as patriotic and a worthy trade-off for the price paid. The / A PMs wife is often seen as an ambassador for UK goods.to people outside the UK. And lets face it...if she DID wear what you and I do-she would get criticised for that also.

I think you must be in the minority, why else does one find that most newspapers have separate inserts specially focused on female interests. Newsstands are packed with women's gossip magazines, and TV caters extensively for women's preoccupation in fashion and beauty products.
