Nice if you can get it.
I bet this will cheer up our troops in Afghanistan, whose wives and children are struggling to try and make ends meet, while living in sub-standard accommodation.

Well there's a legal obligation to house her and her children, I mean you wouldn't want to see kids out on the streets now would you? So surely this is more of a story about a council not doing their research properly as I suspect there's cheaper properties around going on the searches I'm currently running at the moment rather than anything to do with our brave boys?
This makes my blood boil
Just what has this woman contributed to our society? Does anyone know?
I wonder if she got this because of her ethnic background and the council are dead scared of putting her into accomadation people born in this country are forced into.
It is 100% disgrace and one of the big reasonsn this country has gone down the pan.
Just how long one wonders will it be before the majortiy revolt. It wont be pretty but it is long overdue.

The only trouble youngmafbog is that judging by the posters on this site it is us that are the minority.
This country will slip further into the abyss unless those who are so apathetic, that they can see no further than next Saturday's match or Celebrity television show, are bought finally to their senses.

it's always about Our Brave Troops with you. Is it because you saw the word 'Afghan'?
Of course it was, that is what it is all about. Haven't you ever heard of the word, associations? (a link, a connection, ideas commonly connected with another idea).
The common links in this case were the fact that she was Afghan, our troops are fighting in Afghanistan, she lives in luxury accommodation while some of our troop's families live in in sub-standard accommodation.
If I were to have missed this connection it would have taken away the point I wished to make. It is a free country and am entitled to make any point I so wish.
Oh! dear it is such hard work explaining things to you Lad.
If the likes of China Doll wished to get across the points she made, then she was perfectly free to seek out this report and put her own connections to it, instead of also having a cheap sarcastic dig at our brave boys

I was just noticing the link you made AOG which is not the
same as the link I made, for me the story has nothing to do with the troops abroad, hence my our brave boys comment.
It is entirely to do with a council and a land lord and several misconceptions. I did read it, but I answered more fully in the other thread about it. You put your slant on it, the Daily Mail have their slant, I just think you're both talking tosh. :c)

Of course the link/slant (your words, I would rather call them associations) I made are not the same as yours China Doll.
The advantage I have of using my association of words, is because I happened to post the link first not you, hence my referal to "our troops".
You say, "It is entirely to do with a council and a land lord and several misconceptions".
What you failed to say first, "in my opinion"
I put my slant on it, the Daily Mail did not comment, and you put your slant on it.
I put my slant on it because i had every right to do so, since it was my question. You put your slant on it because they were your opinions, fair enough.
But please don't be so arrogant as to state that both myself and the Daily Mail are talking tosh, just because we have made different interpretations to this news item than you have.
I refer you once again to the last paragraph of my answer to Quinlad.

Oh you're back, excellent!
It's not arrogance that makes me think you're both talking tosh. It's the fact that this ladies housing situation is nowt to do with the troops in Afganistan. Also, that the Daily Mail is implying she's getting shed loads of stuff for free and she's not english when we in fact no nothing about the family and it's the council that are at fault. Possibly also a mick taking landlord. That's what I'm basing my opinion on, not blind emotion or knee jerking.

You seem to have got yourself confused and grumpy again, AOG.
One, we're not at war with Afghanistan. They're not our enemy. So we're not giving our resources away to a bitter foe. Her being from Afghanistan is of no more consequence to this story than if she was from Colombia, Korea or Karachi. No, what you've done is, you've seen the word 'Afghanistan', it's reminded you of some soldiers and you've got yourself in one of your rages again.
Two, you seem to place the families of the armed forces on their own plane of entitlement - as if they're more deserving than the many, many people in this country who endure real poverty. Just wondering why that is.

Oh! I give up with both yourself and China Doll.
If you both want to put your own agenda onto this report, stop waiting until others ask a question and then be courageous enough to ask one of your own, instead of always waiting for others to do so.
Here is your chance now, if you are not inventive enough to do so, then feel free to use the same report, and then mould it to YOUR OWN agenda.
There I can't be any fairer than that, can I?

They have not put their own agenda on this report. They have read it and based on the available evidence, have come to a different conclusion as to who is to blame.
If the top brass at the MoD would sooner sip soup at the Savoy than fix the homes of soldiers, that is hardly this lady's fault.
You seem to have forgotten that we are fighting the Taleban in Afghanistan, the Afghans are our ally.
