Now it's Frankie Boyle's turn...
After claiming the scalp of Russell Brand, the Daily Mail has turned its outrage to Mock The Week.
The newspaper has taken up arms against what it calls a 'so-called joke' Frankie Boyle cracked on a show aired last night.
Asked to think of something you wouldn't hear in the Queen's Christmas speech, he said: 'I have had a few medical issues this year - I'm now so old that my pussy is haunted.'
The show was originally broadcast 21 months ago. Are the media just scenting blood now?

I saw that program the other might.
It was originally broadcast after Saddam Hussein had been hung and there were lots of "jokes" about his hanging.
They said it would be funny if he dropped through the hatch and found himself in the big brother house.
Also that if he saw Jade Goody's mum in there he would ask to be hung rather than stay in the house.
I have to say though, a lot of humour looks FAR worse when written down than when you see it "live" on TV.
I remember a Tom and Jerry cartoon a few years ago where Jerry gets a gun and holds it up to Tom's forehead.
He pulls the trigger and a hole goes right through Tom's head.
Sounds awful when written down but as part of a kids cartoon it seems funny.

I think they're right, i'm not a prude, swearing ion its place etc, but I do feel offended when I hear the 'F' word so many times when its not warrented.
Lets face it, humour is nearly always at the expense of someone else, thats accepted, but there is a line between what is decent and what is not.
As far as Jonathon Ross is concerned, saw his chat show once, ages ago, and never watched id again, the other one, Brand, I never even knew what he did, i'd heard of him, but thats it.
Now those two have gone, albeit one temporarily, the guns should be turned onto all the others who broadcast Toilet Humour.

why is the phrase 'I'm not a prude' always followed by the word 'but'?
The Daily Hate has been trying to stir the self-righteous anger of the moral minority for years. It's rare that their first couple of pages doesn't feature the latest thing they're outraged about. They've successfully mounted a campaign against two idiots at the bbc and now they're riding the wave of that success.

Can you imagine if the but of the joke had been a prominant muslim and all the protests had come from there?
The mail and all the right wingers would be out decrying the BBC for political correctness and the threads would be all about bowing to minorities!
Typical of the right is that they only get behind a cause when they personally can identify with it's victims

Seriously...check out the BBC website. You won't believe what has just been announced!
Apparently, not only has Jonathan Ross been suspended, but tomorrow, both he and Russel Brand are to be publicly flogged by the England Rugby team in the middle of Trafalgar Square.
It all kicks off at 2pm.
I really think they're going too far now.

Frankie Boyle isn't funny, he's just smutty. He has no wit. I do vaguely remember this episode though and this was one of the few gags of his that made me laugh.
As someone pointed out, it's kind of ironic that the Mail (or certainly its readers) complain so bitterly about not being able to be un-PC, then attack several good examples of it.
The Mail is at heart extremely sensationalist and reguarly exaggerates stories for agenda purposes. Of course, it's not the only paper that does this, but it's one of the most widely-read and is also an excellent example of why politicians shouldn't cede an excess of influence to public opinion.
