Do you think it was a mistake for the Conservatives to align themselves closely to McCain? If the Conservatives get elected, will Obama want to work with Cameron, knowing he was closely allied to McCain?

Also, it was well known that "The Special Relationship" has been on hold since Blair's departure. Bush and Brown did not get on. Will it resume, now that Obama and Brown share similar goals?

The only "special relationship" is what we can do for America.

The press depict us as the puppy waiting at the foot of America's bed.

We are allies and any affiliation has less to do with politics than support on the world stage.

America need allies they will do what they need to.

Obama has already spoken of the need to speak to his country's enemies as well as its friends, so I guess he won't really mind seeing Cameron. He might want to pick up some economic tips from George Osborne.
The special relationship is dead. It may have occurred when Blair tried to drum up support from France, Germany and Russia to side with the USA on the invasion of Iraq. All failed and they turnwed out to be the biggest antagonists. Our influence is Zilch!

Better then to act as an equal partner in Europe especially on Trade and defence which is what Brown is doing. A sense of reality is setting in and about time.
