Can anyone explain why....
... the religion of these two sisters is relevant to the story? It is mentioned in both the headline and the first line of the report, but it would appear to have no bearing on the story. Why so?

I honestly dont think it is appropriate to mention anything specific when it doesnt relate to the story, but intrigue in many of us wants to know more about those involved. They could have said Moroccan twins, although the story does seem to focus on the high earning financiers as being the poor victims, so the females being Muslim (or foreign) seems to add gusto the plight of the poor six figure salaried men at the top.
Had this been a high flying top female exec in the banking world, little would have been mentioned of her creed, often they dont even mention nationality.

It would seem in a sexual harassment case that the sex of the person would be quite important to the story.
Does the use of 'Ms' identify her marital status?
No, her name and age are not important to the story, but add to that element of rounded understanding which might enable some people to have a view on perhaps her maturity, and confirm that in their own mind because if her name she is not likely to be a johnny foreigner.
Just shows how the two DM stories contrast though doesn't it.
It always seems important to point out that they are high earners though, which is nice.

Perhaps the religion is revalent to this story because........
The women had also alleged that bosses removed their Jewish clients and transferred them to non-Muslim colleagues.
One of their many moans.
Hanan had already produced a startling 150-page witness statement outlining her complaints believed to stretch to 200 allegations.
Typical muslim then, plenty of complaints, with one thing or the other, makes one wonder if it is safe to employ them.
