police officers in the bnp
I think it's absolutely shocking and shameful that police officers are members of the BNP. I have written to the party telling them that if these people are not removed immediately they will lose my vote.

I'm quite sure that there are many misogynistic wife-beaters in the police, who still carry out their daily duties in the correct manner, even though they come into contact with women all the time during the course of their work.

For gawd sake it was a joke.
He was feigning annoyance that a party he votes for (the BNP) has got police as members.
It is a bit like the joke Groucho Marx said when he was asked if he wanted to be a member of a classy golf club: "I refuse to be a member of any club that would have me as a member"
Some pople just cannot understand irony.

stokemaveric, I think it's just a police ruling - serving officers are not allowed to join the BNP. I don't know about other political, ethnic or other organisations. You'd have to ask the police about membership of those. Not that I rate very highly your chances of getting an honest answer, if indeed you get an answer at all.
