Reading the newspaper report today, it seems that the daughters were too terrified of him to report it. Makes one wonder how the mother didn't realise something was very badly wrong, unless she was too scared of him as well. It's very sad that these days the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Hanged is used in this context in the past tense as well - 'he was hanged by the neck until he was dead'.

This has obviously only come to the notice of the police recently and it is impossible to imagine how people in that situation think, behave and react.

To live in such fear of your husband and father must be truly terrible.

Like I posted last night. I reckon places like the London Dungeons should be re opened. Put all these abusers,baby tortureres etc in them. No home comforts like in prisons,just bread and water! Let their families feed them and if they dont then the culprits go without.

Given the constraints of the law, what do you think the sentance should be?
Given that the the hypothesis is that the law will not deliver justice in this instance the questioner is asking do you agree or disagree with the punishments meted out by our laws?
FYI I'm not particuarly reactionary but this offender has shown no remorse and did'nt even care to appear in court, I've met and meet many people who would callously kill or injure anyone without a second thought, alas I have to admit there are some people I would hang personally and do so cheerfully.
I would withdraw my support for the death penalty if life really meant life, but until then.......
