Pet Hates...
48 Answers
I hate, and I mean HATE, with a passion, pairing up socks. With 3 males in the house and all wearing black socks I have a mountain of them. But they're not all the same kind of black socks, some have logos on them, some are more faded than others. This is probably the only job/chore I would gladly pay someone to do, or if I was rich I'd just throw socks away and not bother washing them at all. What are your pet hates?

It used to drive me potty when he only undid the top buttons to take it off, then put it in the washing basket. I used to have to stand & undo the rest of the buttons on all the shirts before putting them in the washing machine, then hanging them out. Not funny when you're in a hurry!
Mind you, he's a brilliant cook & very helpful, so I shouldn't grumble! ;o}

You can buy little gripper things in Lakeland (I think) which you push the socks into in pairs and that is how they stay throughout both washing and drying machines. I can't for the life of me remember what they are called - something very simple like 'sockies' - they were quite reasonably priced as I remember.
He he Debbz, I used the have the same problem with the black socks - now I only have one male in the house so it's not too bad. Black socks were also great escape artists they used to find their way into the most unusual places and there were always those that never got their partner back and ended up with new partners that were totally different!!! Black socks have a life all of their own.
LMAO @ Red.... I'm sure that's child abuse though, workhouses were abolished years ago....
Sock pairing I don't mind, but I hate putting washing away - I will od anything not to have to stand and sort washing into piles for drawers and hanging up......
The thing I do hate about socks, is the fact that my husband puts them in the washing basket all rolled up and crusty, and I have to crack them to unroll them before I put them in the machine.
Lottie, you are so right about black socks - they also attempt to escape before you put them in the machine, because you cangather all your darks together and, guaranteed, you will find an odd black sock either on the stairs or right in front of the washing machine (that is now filling up).

Hah! You lot are lucky to have black socks.
The other weekend eldest Junior Overall returned from Uni with a mountain of washing.
When he packed his bags to go back he scooped up ALL the socks I'd washed, including those belonging to me, his dad, his sister & his brother.
We're all now stuck with wearing those novelty socks you get as pressies and stick in a drawer cos they're hideous!
