My immediate reaction was that I 'hoped' he was dead before they knifed his goolies and it struck me the perpetrators must have more than a hint of teh sadist about them.
And my only other thought was that this had been going on for some time, he had had his caravan set on fire so why didnt he upsticks and move away?

Neither - but I take your point that maybe your question was not phrased as you intended.
Obviously as a father of three daughters, i have seriously strong views about paedophiles, but I also have equally strong viewa about vigilanteism.
Taking the law into our own hands because of an over-developed sense of 'justice' is the thin end of a very nasty wedge, so I cannot condone this action under any circumstances.
Emotionally, I may feel that he 'desrved it', but alws and civiised soceity are based on the principles of justice and law, not simply knifing someone whom you 'believe' to be guilty of a crime, however repellent that concept may be.

It is totally unforgiveable. The police are now saying that although he was convicted of having sex with a person under 16 in 2001, he had recently been removed from the sex offenders register.
You can read into that what you will, but there is no way he deserved to die in any way, that he did in this horrendous attack is despicable.
