Ken Bigley Murder Video
I have just seen the beheading of Ken Bigley, absolutely disturbing and so unbelievably heart breaking. After he was beheaded, his head was on the floor and I swear he had a hole in his head as though he had been shot, but he looked very much alive before he was beheaded. I was really hoping he had been shot in the head before hand then he wouldn't have to go through all that pain and torture. Does anyone have any comments on this?

I already said I was disgusted and it upset me totally, just because I watched it does not make me a bad person. This video is posted on the World Wide Web, so I trust I am not the only one who has seen it. cruthinboy, I agree totally with your comment!! I posted this question in hope that someone would tell me that Ken got shot first and did not suffer.
Thank you netty.m
The killing was definitely not quick enough! I was nearly in tears watching it. But for me, just 'knowing' what happened is as hurtful as watching it. As it is described in news articles in such graphic detail, surely yo have all seen it in your heads by just reading what happened!
Thanks again netty.m
Andy, I completely understand why people would choose not to watch this awful video footage. But I just do not understand why people think I am 'in the wrong' for watching it? Especially after I have explained how it made me feel. I prayed every day for Ken to be released, and I am sure no one would call his family for watching it now would you?!
I am fascinated - would you watch a 12 year old girl being raped? after all "its reality" and it happens - I must agree with all the other folks - not only are you sick for watchig it, but I wonder about the people you know - I certainly haven't been sent this email - and I am amazed that you think this is a good point for discussion.
Oneeyedvic, did you not read what Gibbo has said? For god sake give Gibbo a break!! A '12yr old girl being raped' is hardly the same as this! It has been publicised all over the world for crying out loud! It has been the topic of conversation all over the world for 3 weeks! My friend was raped when she was 12, so I find your comment completely inappropriate Oneeyedvic. This video is on the net for all to see, whether you choose to see it or not is up to you, but I hold NOTHING against you Gibbo for watching it.
Hi Gibbo. Thanks for your response. I personally do not think you were 'wrong' to watch the video - it's a matter of personal choice in which we agree to differ. Other people do seem to be castigting you for your exercise of free choice, and I think that is an over-reaction. I do think it is a valid point for discussion - how else are we to exchange views and opinions, which is the raison d'etre of this Site. I hope future respondants can stick to the point you raised, and not get sidetracked with emotive 'what about ...' scenarios, which don't help. You are an adult, entitled to the decision you made, and I'm sorry it has affected you so badly. Thanks for the debate.
Thank you Andy, your reply means a lot to me. I respect everyone's decision about what they watch and don't watch, but I believe it is wrong to judge as Casey said. People are responding as if I am some sort of criminal who enjoys watching explicit viewings...WELL YOU ARE VERY WRONG! I have noted my thoughts and feelings about the whole thing.
Gibbo, I could not watch it under any circumstances, but I do not condemn you for doing so. At least you have been very open about it. I am sure there are lots of people that will watch it but will not admit they have done so.
I have watched actual films shot in the concentration camps during the second world wars and have been really badly affected. I don't think I am bad for watching.
MrsCheeks, get a life. It has got f*** all to do with respect. And I am in no way what so ever 'ashamed' of myself for living in the real world and watching reality. I feel I learn from things like this and understand how sick and twisted parts of the world really are. Gibbo Mon 11/10/04
Believe me, I have a life and I would have deleted the email as soon as it arrived. There is nothing to be learned from watching someone be executed - regardless of whether they are on death row or an innocent man like Mr Bigley.
And yes that does go for these terrorists too. If my husband had been - and in fact COULD BE - one kidnapped by these people, i would hope that people would exercise some respect towards my dead loved one and NOT watch such atrocities.
