If one did not wish this to happen, then a way round this could be a clause on the donor card, stating that the organ or organs should only go to a British NHS patient.

However Splat is now thought of as the meanie chairman (with a feather boa obviously).
But back to the point...Yes, some faith groups would certainly be against it but it'd be up to them to opt out as individuals. I'm pretty sure that some countries already have this sort of system in place and I just believe that it could be so benneficial to bring it in over here. That and mandatory blood donation if a patient is fit and healthy... But I'm showing signs of the dictator beneath now.

You'll enjoy the boxset. I watched two series straight off at the beginning of last year.
With regards to the male characters, I think you'll find that Robert Sean Leonard is by far and away the most attractive (even if he's a little cross-eyed):

So you didnt reffer to the scots as something like 'sweaties'? (whatever that means)
NO! I don't know what that means also, please get your facts right.
You say that the guardian is a truth bender-
NO! It is the likes of you that are always accusing certain newspapers of telling lies. Here is what I did say, "it is only true if it is printed in the Guardian or any other far left propaganda sheet".
i think it is reasonable to assume that:
One should never go down that dangerous road of assuming anything, especially when one is addressing the actual points in the subject under discussion, not something addressed in past posts.
you have stated many times how you are very pro british and dont like our resources going to foreigners
NO! What I have stated in the past is that British tax payers who have paid into the system for the benefit of certain resources, should be given first preference, over that of others not vice versa.
I am a firm believer in the saying "charity begins at home"
a donor card stating just for british people is your solution the the 'problem'
NO! My suggestion to anyone who is against the idea, laid down in the article.
can we not infer from that that your own opinion is that you dont want your organs going to foreigners?
As stated previously it is dangerous to assume, infer, bend the truth, or even tell damn lies.
maybe if all this is wrong you could have actually posted an opinion in the first place! or is that to challenging?
At last you are almost there, but there is no MAYBE, it is wrong.
And if I wish to voice an opinion I will do, and I won't find it in the least challenging, unlike you who it seems cannot address anothers post without bending others words or even

Before correcting my mistake in typing ALSO twice, perhaps you would care to read through you own posts for the variety of horrendous bad spellings, among all your other mistakes.

I'm basing that, not on anything my mate has told me, but from watching House, where a very similar situation arose in series two.
Well, that must be right then?
So you are now getting your information from a TV series?
How dare you have the nerve to criticise information gained from the Daily Mail.

After reading the ignorant comments on the daily mail website, I have to say 'The Sherman' has made my day! How nice to read some sense on this issue and written very wittily.
Mrs Overall I sympathise as my sister spent two years on the waiting list for transplant. However, my experience has made me more sympathetic to the foreigners getting transplants, they are just as ill as the people here and they too will die without transplant.
I understand it's hard to feel your case might not be priority, I really hope your sister gets her transplant.
I think some people (most of them daily mail readers) are being incredibly callous over the matter of human life, I don't see how what country you come from should affect your right to medical treatment and to life.
I think what this article should be highlighting is the ridiculous shortage of organs and the fact those statistics prove there is also a shortage in the countries mentioned. We should be working with those countries on how to boost organ donation rates and encourage sign ups, not being petty and complaining about people trying to obtaina life saving procedure.

What I would wish to ask Miss-Mary, Quinlad and persons with similar views on this subject.
If they were in need of a transplant and only one organ became available, would they be as charitable to say give it to that foreign person they also need one?
No bending the question just 'YES' or 'NO' is all that is needed.

It's not a case of bending the question, there are a lot of circumstances regarding organ donation, doctors don;t just go around throwing organs to people. You need to be an exact match in a lot of characteristics including blood type, tissue type, size etc. This means there are not as many people as you might think that are competing for each organ.
If you are on the list of course you want a transplant before anyone else but there will always be people competing with you for organs, whether they are english or not is irrelevant. That is why there is a priority list, the most ill get called first which is why that is a ridiculous question. If they only had day/weeks to live and I had months then yes they should get the organ, if the opposite I should.
That question is irrelevant becaus no one decides when they get their transplant, it's based on a system of matching characteristics and a priority system for the most ill and I think it works well. The problem is not the foreign people on the list, the problem is the shortage of donors.

Sorry, mis-read the question. You're asking if I'd want a foreigner to have someone else's organ instead of me, should I need it?
Hmm. probably not.
But would I want someone from my own country, or my own town, or my own street to have it instead of me?
Probably not.
(Incidentally, that's another of your rubbish analogies. And you warn others off bending the question? Mental.)
