If I have a life policy with a pet insurance company and my pet is diagnosed with a life-time health problem, needs permanent medication costing 220 per month. What will the insurance company do about it? Can they cancel the insurance? Can they increase my premuims to an extorniate amount to cover the costs of the medication?

Thanks in advance

you wuld be much better off asking the company

I'd rather not ring them as I do not want to bring it to their attention. I have been submitting the claims for the last six months and they are currently about 5 months behind with processing claims. Consequently, I don't think they have realised.
If the mediaction costs 220 who is paying for it now?

You are going to have to contact them sooner or later. Who is the insurance with? Have you read the T&Cs?

We are paying for it. They have paid part of the claim are currently 5 months behind. Their terms and conditions doesn't really mention anything.
There is no point in not talking to your insurer - at some point they will catch up with the claim and apply their terms and conditions - it is better to clear up the situation in your own mind now. All insurers are obliged to provide you with transparent Terms and COnditions and a full policy wording - if you have not had one ask for a duplicate.
Also bear in mind they will probably ask the vet for a full report !

The report was supplied months ago and the insurance company have already paid the first part of the claim. As they are a few months behind, I don't think they have realised the extent of our claim. When they realise, I understand that the premuim will increase, however, they cannot back date that surely they would have to give you notice.
They can revise the premium at renewal - I am fairly confident they cannot change the premium before then. GoodLuck
