100% spot on, rude, arrogant.....i always turn up 15mins early.....'just to make sure'
I agree, it is just plain rude.

I often arrange to meet a mate in the pub at a certain time. She turns up 1/2 hr late whilst I'm left sitting on my own like a complete loser.

I always get some crap excuse about some disaster with her hair or something - WELL START GETTING READY EARLIER THEN!!!
I agree!

Twelve of us had a table booked for a meal on New Years Day at 7pm. Eight of us were on time and the remaining family of four turned up at 8pm....just as we were finishing our meal. We had to plead with the staff to hang onto their table. When they arrived they didn't apologise or offer any explanation and then expected the rest of us to sit and watch them eat.
Very very rude!
My thoughts entirely. Mrs. Blue and I have a couple of "friends" who like to "pop in" when they are in the area. "We will be over about 2 o'clock" they say, and turn up at 3.30 with "Oh, we thought we would do a bit of shopping first".

The last time they did this, we gave them half an hours leeway then went out ourselves. I got a call on my mobile: "where are you? We are outside your house and it appears you have gone out. That seems awfully rude".

"Not as rude as you, you pair of dumb halfwits. If you can't come when you say, don't come at all." Haven't heard from them since.
My best friend is always late, shes not being rude it is just what shes like a complete clutz. I find it ruse when people dont let you know they are going to be late if later than say half hour. I tend to just tell my mate an earlier time to meet now as I know she wont turn up till an hour later
she has no excuse she just gets lost in the moment, starts watching telly or starts speaking to her family etc
I don't do late......If I say 8o/c by 8.01 I'm tapping my feet and cursing.

I am very impatient.....very very
And me ummmm, what is the point of arranging to meet at 8 if you aren't going to be there for 8?

Mind you, I am frequently late for work...
I always try to be on time, I hate being late but I find that if something's held me up to start with then everything else turns against me too (very often tractors in narrow country lanes etc.) but I do try to warn people with a phone call if I'm going to be more than 10 -15 mins late.
R1Geezer....absolutely correct. almost an obsession for me to be on time. Over the years, "friends" have realised the score and are never late. e.g.
Years ago, if they were late for dinner, we started....that soon sorted them out.
At work, if I can be on time, thae so can the rest of the staff.

I do hate lateness but at least late people do turn up! My sister in law consistently cancels the times we are supposed to get together, usually with half an hours notice and always after ive started preparing a meal for 7 - the 4 of us and the 3 of them.
Result is way too much wasted food and 2 upset children who thought they were seeing their cousin but have been let down again.
Lateness - or at least a bit more bleeding notice - would be much better than that!
My parents have always been appalling time keepers - hours late not just half an hour. They were late for my wedding which made me arrive in tears!.
As kids we were always humiliated as they would arrive to a frosty atmosphere hours later than we should have been somewhere and if you corrected them over it you were in BIG touble.
It has left all three kids with a phobia about time keepig and if my family are later than the time they state, I really get uptight and worried.
People are so fri##ing selfish and should not be so rude. It had a knock on effect though as they eventually got dropped by many friends, which was so avoidable. More fool them.
They turned up for 1 p.m. xmas dinner this year at 4.30 p.m.!!!!!!
Much as I love my best friend, she has absolutely NO concept of time or being on time. Drives me to absolute distraction.

If she says 5 minutes, it is anything from 30 minutes to 5 hours.

If I say "dinner at 8", I have half a chance of her rocking up somewhere around 9.30 (I now build an extra 90 minutes into any time).

I get absolutely infuriated because she just has no comprehension of how much trouble others will go to on her behalf for her to turn up when she feels like it. In 20 years of friendship, that is the one thing that we come to blows about!

My late grandparents aren't annoying pratts.

They were lovely.
one of my pet hates is poor time keeping, and not even a phone call to say sorry
am I late too?

I agree. I always wonder when it's okay for me to give up and go home, even if they've texted to say, "on my way".. although I have been known to respond, "don't bother".
