Hi my husband is facing a charge of GBH with intent, How this happened was where he lived he rented a room out to a guy and his girlfriend and they were keeping the place untidy so my husband spoke to them about it. One day the guy said he is living and so my husband asked him for his TV the guy gave it to him whilst my husband was in the kitchen he heard this bang when he went to check the guy broke his TV stand he knocked on the door and asked the guy why he had done this and the guy told him to **** off and his girlfriend said it too. At the same time the guy punched my husband in the face broke his eye socket and head butt him my husband fell to the ground and was dazzed he ran in the kitchen and there was a matchit medium sized knief on the table he pick it up and went in the hall way at this point he wanted to get out the house cause he lived on the 9th floor the other guy was still in the hall way and came towards my husband so as my husband step forward he caught the guy on the hand and shoulder with the kneif. My husband was provoked and didnt mean to hurt the guy and now he is being charged with GBH bearing in mind when the guy and girl went in for questioning to give a statement their story didnt add up. My husband was adivce by his solicitor to plead not guitly to the high charge of GBH but guilty to the low charge of GBH in defenance somthing along them lines. My husband had to leave the country before the second hiring of his sentance so as it stands he has also jumped bail he is not yet back in the country but he wants to come back. I would like to know what kind of sentencing is he looking at? considering the other guy started this whole mess.

He left because he had overstayed and had to go back home to deal with family issues. At the time we wernt married so I think he was scared of what with happen to him as in doing time then be deported and not being able to come back and then the end of our relationship. But when he applied for his visa they refused him one two grounds which one was this because of the offence and jumping bail, which they are indicating i can go and live there but there is no jobs and i work here so it would better for us to settle here than over where he is in the caribbean

bad-girl- you're seriously suggesting ways for this guy to stay in this country despite going for someone with a machette??
sorry sweetmar, i only read a small part of your massive wall of text, but from the bit I read I sincerely hope your guy stays the hell out of the UK. We have enough trouble with our own folk who seem to think it's ok to argue their cases with guns and knifes without allowing foreigners in who feel this way too.

for your information boo the other guy was the one who started it first in which my husband could have lost an eye as he has a plate in his eye and in order for him to come out the house living on the ninth floor he did what he had to do cause it was two against one cause the guy girlfreiend was also coming at him. My husband has never been in trouble before not with anyone this is his first. Don't worry when someone in your family will have a similar situation i wonder if you will think so.... Dumb ass
