i`ve just cancelled mine as sick of photos being sent to me
"oh look at me on holiday" or "oo jayne from school is a lesbian" or "dya remember being bullied by mark cos you had big boobs"
it can be addictive and dull after 10 minutes

So, yes long term damage will come with fb

moderation is the key. too much and it can become addictive or really boring

As with anything, done in moderation all are completely fine.
