Yorkshire TV closure

Have the moguls of ITV had the closure of Yorkshire tv in mind for years. There were 3 very popular regional programmes run by Luke Casey, Ian Clayton and Mathew Corbett and at no time did they carry a commercial. All that was shown in the break were previews of future ITV programmes or the obligatory ads for smoke detectors.
I don't believe such quality and popular shows could not attract paid commmercials
