She should be arrested and charged under the anti-terrorist laws, with the possibility of facing a lengthy prison sentence.
This could quite easily have been a terrorist firing a gun or throwing a bomb.I don't think many would then have found it so amusing, that is unless they were verysick individuals.

Rollo- you are not only a genius yet have marvellous wit too + you are totally right here. Not sure why people are getting their knickers in a twist over this- it was only green custard + harmless + very funny!! Lighten up everyone. With all the gloom in the news sure this has amused many- great item to appear on news( not enough good news or funny pieces of news on the news anyhow + right now we all especially need these positive snippets with the cold weather + the credit crunch)!! A big fan of Just For Laughs + Candid Camera so found this most amusing!! Mandy is very slimy too ;-)!! Laughter is the best medicine!! Bea ;-)
What is the world coming to Julnar, you think a politican and his position should command some respect?
When politicans respect the people that vote them in to power then they will get the respect they deserve.
As they don't respect their constituents they don't get any respect in return.
Nor does anyone think that most of them are in it for anything more than money and power,so don't ask me to respect them.

Like someone else said, if a protester could throw something as harmless as green custard, they could quite as easily fired a gun or lunged with a knife. Just because it was Peter Mandelson (in some peoples' eyes) does not make it a laughing matter. Anyone assaulting anyone should be taken seriously seeing it could have been a fatal attack. If any perpetrator had a gun or a knife and wanted to attack Mandelson then they could have done so..The security people did not stop the green custard, so they would not have stopped a gun or knife.
The hypocrosy of some on this site , never ceases to amaze me .
On the one hand they would complain about the breakdown of law and order - yet seem to think that there is nothing wrong in this woman assaulting another person .
The recipient of the assault is irrelevant , here .
Apart from any personal opinion with respect to the man in question - I totally agree with the rest of AOG's posting

No, people complain about the remoteness and inaccesability of our political leaders, this is why.
This is why you'll struggle to gain access to debates in the Palce of Westminster.
This is why you'll struggle to get seats in the balcony in the Commons.
This is why you can no longer walk up Downing Street.
This is why all political speeches are made to people of a like mind hand picked from their own activists.
You get the country you deserve in the end, the correct place to protest is through the ballot box, if you're really bothered about Heathrow's 3rd runway, march, history tells us that lawful demonstrations of dissent like that brings change, stunts like this achieve nothing but 15 minutes of fame for the usually profoundly middle class activist who did it.
She could have thrown acid on him, funny then?
