Then why are you going to Vegas? I hear the shows are cool. Not sure what they cost, though.

You MUST have a flutter on the slots!  This is what you should do:  Decide how much (e.g. $50) you are prepared to lose and get the money changed into the appropriate coins.  Keep this money in the tub you will get. Start feeding the machine.  If you win anything, immediately put it in your pocket.  Do this every time the machine pays out.  Do NOT take any money out of your pocket. When your $50 has gone, walk away from the machine.  Count your winnings.  You may be up, you may be down.

When we did this a few years ago, we were $1 up.

It's fun (and free) to watch other people playing.  We saw a woman win $10,000 on a slot.

Saw on the uk tv a couple of years ago that there are a plethora of "pawn shops" where people go to las vegas and get the gambling bug and start to pawn stuff they brought with them so that they can get back in the game.... on the outskirts of las vegas most of them are located.......again from the tv ....i dont think u will have to pay so much to eat....lots of freebees/cheap food in the casinos to keep u from going outside to eat .....enjoy.....
Go to the booking office at each casino/hotel. They have lots of free coach trips complete with free buffet's. And there is lots to see and do without spending any large amounts of  $$$$.
is it like a business trip? because sincity is the most boring place ever.  they have nothing but casinos.
i went to vegas to get married this year and loved it! we were also on quite a tight budget. just walking around in awe is great and cost nothing, you must try a buffet, all you can eat for about 10, and its really good food too, especially the breakfast buffet.Wet n wild is great and a welcome relief from the scorching weather. Stratosphere tower is really cool to. There is a big shopping mall on the outskirts called belz, its got a discount nike factory. Designer names for real cheap prices. Prepare yourself for intense heat, its crazy hot!! We splashed out and got a pink cadillac to drive us up the strip to the chapel, it has to be done, soooo much fun. I am so jealous of you, would give my left arm to be in vegas!! Ps try a restaurant called Drai's, quite expensive but the best food i have ever eaten in the classiest restaurant. have fun!!

If you have the opportunity, don't miss Hoover Dam. It's about 25 miles but well worth the drive.  They also have tour busses that go there and are not expensive. Check with the Bellman at your hotel or front desk of your motel. Remember, the exchange rate will make things seem cheaper anyway. Enjoy...
I don't think you have to do any gambling - i went for a week and didn't do any! Free stuff includes - all the hotels, check out the mgm grand for the lions, the bellagio for the fountains and there's various free shows going on at other attractions. I had a wicked time, mixed up going out shopping and sight seeing with lazing by the pool mmmm, have a wicked time!
We went there for last New Year and we had a ball (without spending too much!).  The casinos are an attraction in themselves and, as Becks says, there's free shows in a lot of them - Circus Circus have a free circus show, there's the Pirate Battle outside Treasure Island.  The shopping centres inside the casinos are ace for wandering around and gawping - I especially liked Caesar's Palace for that.  One of my favourite things was the rollercoaster halfway up New York New York - so scary but brilliant! And definitely go for the buffets - we ate mostly at Circus Circus and The Riviera  because we were staying up that end of the Strip, but there's loads to choose from & they're really good value.  My top tip though would be the free drinks  - all the casinos have cocktails waitresses wandering around & they'll get you almost anything you want (Caesar's even do free strawberry daiquiris!), we were advised to tip $1 per round.  We thought you had to be playing to get them (we stuck to the nickel slots though!) but one day (towards the end of our hols, unfortunately) I was just standing around waiting for Mr Saffstar with my shopping bags & I was offered a drink! The buses are really cheap, reliable and clean too - I think it was $2 for a day's unlimited travel.  You really can do it on a shoestring - we didn't intend to go budget but, as we didn't play the tables, we couldn't get rid of our money!  Sorry to ramble on, but I do get excited about Vegas! Have a brilliant time xx
