Jade Goody RIP

sad news today. I've never pretended to be a huge fan but I hope people will show a little respect today, especially as it's Mother's Day and she has left two small children.

and of course, thinking of anyone who is in the same/similar situation x

Maybe this was because there was no film crew or papperazzi around, but when I asked her to move her car once because I wanted to get in the pub car park and she was in the way waiting for hers to be washed, all I got was "do you cufking know who I am!!"


My mum died after 5 years of cancer on my birthday, so they will feel it now and then as it was a special day. Yes, I'm sorry for the kids, and I do respect her for trying to look after them afterwards, but you know what, I am just glad that this media circus is nearing it's end.

That said, I wonder if with the likes of the male gold digger tweedy etc, it will be.

And I am not bitter because I had Monday night in the sweepstakes at work. I am just one of those who know real people suffering and have had the dignity to carry on without making an issue of it

I get up at about 6:30, and I was looking at the BBC news page this morning. At that time (I think), the top story on the site was the new batch of anti-terror laws the govt. is planning in order to clamp down on extremism.

A short while later, I refereshed the page and Jade Goody's death dominated the page, with the previous story relegated to a little box somewhere.

Now, of course, I'd never wish a fate like Goody's on anyone - it's a sad story and much as I found what I saw of her incredibly annoying she didn't deserve what she got. But, frankly, I care about it considerably less than the previous story. It does not deserve anything like the coverage it gets. Goody got far more celebrity than she ever deserved while alive, and the same applies to her death.

I don't think any of us here who are a Mum or a Grandma, can fail to be moved by this young womans tragedy, yes she's made mistakes, haven't we all? yes she's courted the media for money, who wouldn't want to provide for their children? when my daughter, son-in law and grandson came this morning with cards and gifts for Mothers Day, I felt truly blessed, Jade's mum has only a heavy stone around her heart today and will never have the pleasure that I felt today, and when there is the brightest star in the sky, perhaps we should look to it and remember a very brave young lady.

Despite the negative/honest(?) comments of some. Jade has done a great thing she has raised awareness for many women to have smear tests regualary and take care of themselves generally.

Although she decided to portray her dying dies in the media, whcih some may not agree with, she stood for a good cause in the end.

There is obviously a reason as to why she makes headline news. Right or wrong reasons she was still a very famous figure. I feel for her children and no amount of money will ever take the place of a mother.

I think she was extremely brave -she didnt do this for herself-she knew what her fate was but in the face of such adversity she battled on.
What a trouper and as a Mum myself I hope that I would have the strength to look death square in the face and do likewise for children.
BTW -just for the cynics -I doubt very much that her death was orchestrated - that is a slur on the McMillan Nurses who have been caring for her 24/7- and a cynical remark too far.
A very sad day for anyone who has lost their Mum -my thoughts are with you all x I felt for her Mum this morning.

As Joy11 says, we must also think of Jade's mum. She has lost her daughter on mothers day, just as jade's boys have lost their mum. I still find it hard to believe she has gone. She was such a character and she will be missed. Rest in peace Jade xxxx
