The store has renamed Pollack as Colin because, it said, potential buyers were too embarrassed to ask for pollack, a cheap and plentiful cod substitute. After a marketing revamp by the designer Wayne Hemingway, and extensive market research, Sainsbury's hopes Colin will revitalise the market for the fish.
If this is true, this is hilariious?! ;-)
Feel kind of sorry for anyone with the name Colin now ;-) however.
This did amuse me Gromit so thanks for this :-)
the link differs from my recipe, he is what I do....
In a small blender add
6 teaspons Olive oil, 4 lemon juice and a small tub of plain natural yogurt.
Add a chopped red chilli, fresh ginger and a couple of cloves of fresh garlic. Add 2 tps Garam Masala, 1tsp dried chilli, half tsp, coriander, cumin and turmeric.
Whizz in the mixer, and marinate the fish (overnight).

What a joke, I haven't purchased cod for many years since it was said to be endangered so I'm quite used to pollack, hake or whatever white fish is available. Don't know if I can buy fish with a familiar name! Who are you cooking tonight?
Yeah but if you translate it from the french and pronounce it 'cole-ann' then it's just making it worse, sounds like colon (specially in a northern accent) which is even more ridiculous.
I love it, middle class yuppy idiocy at it's very best, brilliant!
