''interesting''.............isnt the word id use to be honest...''tragic'' is the word id use for the poor wife and daughter he slain.......he obviously had a nervous breakdown but to kill his own flesh and blood in her own bedroom is the ultimate betrayal.....interesting??? yes if you like the ballistics of the case.........

very sad..but symptomatic of the socitey that we live in today...greed and the love of money and people being unable to keep up the lifestyle they once had and being afraid that people will see through the facade of of their false "on paper" wealth can push people dangerously close to the edge...sadly in this case three people and many animals died....and for what????

I can understand someone committing suicide when their life unravels but to me killing his family and animals smacks to me of control, I'm out of it so are you. It was certainly premeditated which again suggests a calculated act rather than someone losing it

Yes, but in his case Wizard, from what I've read, his money did buy him happiness, it's only when he lost it all that he went bonkers.

Why didn't he just kill himself ? His wife and daughter could have sold up and maybe got his life insurance and still had a life

I agree Rosetta - to kill yourself is one thing but to take the life of your child is barbaric.

A bit like that woman in America who killed her son at the firing range then shot herself.

The whole thing struck me as very odd. Didn't he supposedly shoot the animals first? I'm sure I read that somewhere. Well a shotgun makes a hell of a noise, and yet more than one blast never woke anyone up? Btw, I didn't see the programme, but the incident put a few question marks in my mind at the time.

I think he killed his wife and daughter (in their sleep?) then shot the animals. and blockaded the entrance so emergency vehicles couldn't get access.
This was not the act of a madman that lost it, this was calculated and planned

Perhaps....just maybe, the money stopped him tipping over the edge? And it was only when he lost it that he.....well...lost it. So theoretically the money did buy happiness??
