crystal glass 'bloom'
4 Answers
Does anyone know how to get rid of the 'bloom' left on crystal glasses after being put in the dishwasher please?
I know the answer is not to put them in there in the first place - but.....! anybody know anything that will actually remove it and turn the glass clear again? Thanks

Unfortunately, it could also be scratch marks in the surface of the glass caused by the action of the water and the detergent, in which case they are not rescuable.

Thanks everyone - I do think that some of it is scratching but some of it is a definite whitish cloudy like stuff that if I scrub hard enough with metal polish I can get off - but then I'm just defeating the object by scratching the surface more! Is this something I can't win on? I do wonder if it is just limescale build up - we do live in a hard water area although we do have our own borehole, If I come up with anything that works I'll post it on
