I think it is a load of hype about nothing.

I watched the show, and yes she does have a good voice, but it's not a great voice.

It's just a case of a not so attractive woman singing well which makes it seem amazing. If a really attractive woman were to come on and sig exactly the same same way, everyone would just say 'she's good, but she ain't great.
