British Muslims less tolerant?

Why should those Muslims who choose to settle in Britain be less tolerant, than those that settle in France or Germany for example?

Perhaps those Muslims who contribute to this site would care to enlighten us?

Perhaps they are more strictly adhering to their religion, I don�t know.

In another article it says that 58% of the general British public said they thought homosexuality was not morally wrong, compared with 68% cent of Germans and 78% of French. So I guess the muslims are more or less aligning themselves to the general views/tolerance levels of the country they are in.

Also 77% of British Muslims identify themselves as British, compared with just 50% of the general population. Maybe they think it is very British to find acts of homosexuality immoral...?

Obviously, I'm not a muslim AOG, but the answer is probably what form of Islam is practiced in their mother country.

Germany for example has a lot of Turkish immigrants. Islam in Turkey is very moderate. In France, the immigrants are mostly north African, gain not a hot bed of fundamental Islam.

In the UK, a lot of our islamic immigrants are from asian sub continent, Pakistan etc, which practice an extreme form of sunni Islam called wahabism.

As pointed out above, it may have nothing to do with being Muslim. Many people find it un natural and disgusting.

Of course under this Government such free thinking is pretty well banned and its only groups like Musilms who labour are afraid of who can get away with it.

Eh? Only 50% of Britons think of themselves as British?

What the hell do the other 50% think they are???

As to the question - God only knows why British Muslims are less tolerant to homosexuality to their European neighbours.

Perhaps it's because Britons are so very open-minded that homosexuality is more obvious here and therefore 'raises more hackles'?
