Hi folks anyone had the election leaflet yet that the BNP have sent out ? I've had a glance at it & part of it says they want this & that for the British!!! Ok fine i agree but then it goes on to say ''Our MEPs will give 10% of their salaries to the 'English Fair' fund to give grants to communitie groups celebrate St Georges Day. I will stand corrected if i'm wrong here, but was St George not a Roman Solider? & is he not also the patron saint of, Catalonia,Ethiopia,Georgia,Greece,Lithuania,Palastine, Portugal, & Russia? Very British i must say!!!

i liked the one where they were promoting jobs for the british and had american and italian models in their posters
I think the point being made is that (despite origins) St george is the patron saint of England, and unlike Scotland, Wales and Ireland, the day is not celebrated in the same way.

Using the same argument, St Patrick was Welsh.
