Abu Hamza's sons are due to be sentenced for fraud and theft. Should he now be lobbying to have their hands amputated? Is that why he has a hook?

In the early 1990s, he lived in Bosnia, with an identity document under the name of Adam Eaman, where he fought in the Arab mujahidin against the Serbs and Croats.[5][6]
Abu Hamza lost both his hands and the use of his left eye, allegedly as a result of wounds sustained in Afghanistan during a de-mining project around 1993.[7] He now uses a distinctive hook as his right hand. He claims to have lost his hands and eye as the result of helping clear land mines in Afghanistan left behind by the Soviet Union.[8] On a special edition of the BBC's Newsnight program broadcast 16 November 2006 a Moroccan-French spy known by the pseudonym Omar Nasiri[9] claimed that he was told by one of his teachers in Afghanistan that he [the teacher] was present when Abu Hamza lost his hands in a nitroglycerin accident, in an al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan.[citation needed]

I don't think we will ever know the truth -heresay . Sharia law isn't quite what it seems. I was talking to a mullah (I think he was - a leader from a mosque) who was visiting my Turkish neighbour and he said that you actually have to plan to steal something in advance and 2 or 3 people hav e to see you do it before - you can be condemmed. He said if you saw a car and decided to steal it - it wouldn't have been premeditated (as you wouldn't have known the car was going to be there) and the losing of a hand would not be deemed the correct punishment.
Too many countries abuse this law and don't follow the true implications likewise too many people think someone steals something sharia law says they lose a hand - not so. Or so this Mullah told me.
