Should this Woman be allowed to serve out her sentence in Briton?

Samantha Orobator, 20, from south London, has been jailed for life by a Laos court after she was found guilty of smuggling heroin.

Foreign Secretary David Miliband signed a prisoner transfer agreement with the government of Laos meaning her sentence could be served in the UK.

Why should she, taking into account the extreme misery these drugs would have caused, if she had managed to get them back to Britain?

She even got pregnant in jail to avoid the death penalty.
If you break the rules in the country you are in you should serve the sentence there.
They may seem harsh or barbaric compared to our soft touch approach but then that is the price you pay for breaking the law abroad.
If she is allowed to return to a British jail she wont serve life will she. They will probably release her on probation.
Then there is no deterrent.

It will cost us a fortune AND she will be out in a few year as well.

From one side why do they commute the death penalty if women are pregnant? Surely they can do it when she has dropped. Otherwise you could say that any woman (over there) with children wouldn't be given the death penulty? And then it would be equal opertunities and the men with children should be spared as well.

IF she were to serve at least 15 years of her "life sentence" in solitary confinement with absolutely no "home comforts", then I'd consider that justice would have been served.

If she comes back here she will be released (very) early and think nothing of what she did,nor the lives that could have been ruined by the drugs she smuggled.
You can get an idea of her morals,by the fact that she got pregnant(by god knows who) in prison because she knew it would stop her going in front of a firing squad.

Sorry, guys, thanks to our nice Foreign Secretary David Milliband, a deal has been struck to have her brought back to the UK to "serve her sentence."

Hence my earlier post referring to the honour it will be for us, the great British taxpayers, to foot all her bills, including no doubt a posse of solicitors who'll try like f*ck, at our expense, to have her sentence reduced as much as possible.

And just wait for them bleating on about a young mother with a child banged up in prison - how inhuman! I can hear 'em honing their speeches to perfection already!!

I thought the reason she got pregnant in prison was because she was raped by a guard. Has that opinion changed now?
One of the reasons we sign these agreements with foreign governments is to enable us to send back foreign nationals who commit crimes over here.

When she has the baby he/she should be allowed to come back to the UK, but not the woman.

Drugs cause so much misery an crime around the globe - the mules are paid well to take the risk of being caught an punished. She has been caught and should be punished by Laos under their justice system.
