Getting a straight edge finish when painting the wall and skirting?
6 Answers
Hi, I am in the middle of painting my hall with the lower half of the wall being a brown colour on top of previously painted lining paper. My problem is that I need to get a straight line between the skirting which is being painted in white gloss and the wall emuslsion? The skirting tapers into the wall and does not have a defining edge. As it goes up the stairs it then curves around at the top to mirrow the stairs. (original 1930's skirting) I thought of painting the skirting first and then applying masking tape on top of the skirting gloss to get a straihght line but I am concerned that the masking tape will damage the newly applied gloss! Any ideas ould be welcomed. Thanks
