Wibleton fortnight
I love Wimbledon fortnight but not sure who I would like to win it, gone are the *stars* of the game, the entertainers like Illya Nastasi, Jimmy Connors, McEnroe and even ice-cool Borg, it used to be such a joy to watch, I think it would have to be Roger Federer for me, I am aware of a similar thread in CB but as I choose not to go in there now, I have posted in here, it is still News after all, and before my friends over the border, take umbridge, I'm sorry but I don't think Murray sells it to me!

Same goes for cricket - boring, boring, boring.
The only thing sporting wise that is keeping me going at the moment is the Lions tour - were it not for that, Summer sporting for me would be a pretty grim affair.

I do wish him well and yes of cause I would like it if a Brit won, he would need some serious PR for me to get myself comfy to watch hime yho' and I agree with you rov entirely, but they were very entertaining to watch.Flip I don't go big on Rugy I'm afraid, I enjoy football and watch an England game if it's on, I used to look forward to my Newcastle's games,,,errrm, enough said there..lol, but I absolutley love Tennis, especially this fortnight, it's just so....English!
I heard a comedy sketch which involved 4 British runners in some kind of race. The English commentator kept refering to the plucky British lads until they dropped out when it became 'oh dear, the Ulsterman has fallen, what a let down' or '..the welsh lad Williams has just given up - they'll be crying in the valleys tonight, but the British lad Jocky McPherson is still hanging on in there' etc etc.
Quite funny I thought.
