Harriet Harman believes Northerners are disadvantaged and wants Southerners to stop "lording it" over them.
A genuine concern? Or political correctness gone mad?

I was active in the TUM for all my working life, and am still a member of my Trade Union, even though I was med. retired 11 yrs ago after a heart attack! Anyway, I'm 52 years old and have fought many a battle for womens rights and don't need to be told who I shouldn't discriminate against. But she kinda does this and it gets up my nose a bit. Know what I'm saying!!??
I think all fair minding people, don't need to be told what to think / do / or say!!

Actually, I don't think southerners DO lord it over northerners. Having lived in both areas, I've seen that wages have to be higher in the south, because of the ridiculous property prices - whether rented or bought. Apart from that, they really have no more, and perhaps less, than northerners do.
You can't beat some of the glorious scenery up where I live, and although I have some great friends and relatives living in the south, generally speaking, northerners appear to be far more friendly and helpful - although I never came across any unpleasantness myself.

Beauj:
How dare you be so un PC? Harriet'll be round your house first thing to give you a good brain washing! And she'll probably bring Peter Mandelson to inspect your curtains are properly hung as well!
Go scrub your mouth out with carbolic soap, this minute! Trying to think for yourself? Being reasonable and responsible? You'll be trying to steal her job next! Hee hee.

I have been saying for years that this woman is a buffoon and a hypocrite.
She sent her kid to St Olaves school in Orpington, which is a fantastically good school - now for anybody who is unaware of the geography of South East London, Peckham to Orpington on the train is about half an hour or so changing at Bromley South. From Orpington Station the school is at least a half hour walk.
Her kid must've passed at least a dozen perfectly good schools between Peckham and Orpington.
In a classic case of 'do as I say not as I do' she completely ignored the party line on schooling becuase what's good for the rest of us isn't good enough for her, and ever since then I haven't been able to stand the bloody woman.
Still, if you are a black one armed lesbian pygmy you're laughing as you'll be pretty much guaranteed a job of your choosing regardless of ability if this silly woman has her way.

Yes it looks as if it's all down to the Northerners, no mention of London's gang culture.
This report may make it sound that some areas up North have much to answers for, but at least one is less likely to be knifed.
