sex offender
my 16 year old step daughter has been groomed by a sex offender and he is on trial for possessing child porn on an ipod. she is convinsed it wasnt him as he said it wasnt the police say he is a dangerous man and have warned her off him. she wont listen . he pleaded no plea in court so it goes straight to crwn court. surely if he really wasnt guilty he would be trying to prove his innosence. she said his solicitor advised him to do no plea. is this to get a lighter sentence and what sentence is he likely to get the child porn were of grade 3 4 and 5

He has entered no plea at this stage because quite possibly his solicitor does not have the full file yet. He will have to enter a plea at the PCMH (Plea and Case Management Hearing) at the Crown Court. If he pleads not guilty, it will go to trial. If he pleads guilty he will stand convicted and will be sentenced.
Levels 3, 4 and 5 are the most serious levels of child porn and depending on his previous, his character and the number of images could easily result in a custodial. In any event, he will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be unable to work with children. He may even have conditions imposed about association with children.
I just hope your step daughter sees sense.

I'm not 100 per cent, but you could inform the police & childrens services - I'm sure they would have some advice on talking to her, or maybe talk to her themselves. As long as she has family support you will have nothing to worry about contacting them. Sadly I would doubt they will do anything with him unless he has / is committing a crime. I think you need to get some professionals involved with your step daughter and hopefully she will come to her senses over this man. The family should offer her support and try not to antagonise her as this will push her further from you & closer to him. Good luck

he should be hung drawn and castrated in my eyes he should get years not months. she has gone to live with him after talking to him for 6 weeks on face book and child protection police are involved thet have sat her down and told her how dangerous he is but their hands are tied as she wont listen. he has been grooming her and has got into her head. she says he wont hurt her if she does what he wants. he is a sicko and my husband to be is a broken man. the police have been watching him and say he is a very clever man

i dont think showing her will work as she is convinced that it wasnt him nomatter what we tell her as he has brain washed her big time. my fiance wont speak to her untill she sees sence but her mum is speaking to her via her sister as we think if she cant speak to her mum but knows she loves her and wants her back it might work. btw she has come from a loving family and has never been in trouble or any thing this is totally out of character. if only the law could change and make it 18 not 16 we could get her back safe as the longer we leave it more sinister things could be happening. he has been in trouble before but the police cant tell us what for. but they have made him tell her and that didnt work.. she sounded drugged up the other day would it be worth ringing the police to take her in to do a random blood test as surely it is illegal to drug a minor without consent?
