A number of police officers have been accused of torturing a suspect during a drugs raid. Officers are said to have held his head in the toilet and flushed the lavatory several times.

Is this fair dues to a drug dealing piece of trash or an outrageous abuse of the police officers powers? Have we, as a society, become more accepting of torture as a means of extracting information from suspects?

That isn't torture, that is bullying.

That said, the police need to address that too, though it is no where near as serious as the charge of torture.

No torture is unacceptable. Period.
