He's been trying to work out his options for maximum damage limitation, watching which way everyone else goes before deciding whose side he's on. Typical Labour indecision, really.
Well up till now Scotland has bourne the brunt of the blame for this, most Scots are also disgusted, there should have been no reason for a convicted terrorist to be free'd under any circumstances.

Contrary to what I've seen a few people write on this site over the weekend, the Scottish people were not in favour of this.

dancairo....c'mon. Gordon Brown's crusade against terrorism, why are we in Afghanistan? Terrorist who killed British subject freed, and you say
Why, therefore, should a Labour Prime Minister whose power base is in London, have to say anything at all?

You must be mad.
yes the scots bu88ered it up as usual.......come on they can't even play cricket......
Squad youre now on another subject...its about Megrahi !
lol craft you wee trouble maker you
weeal I know....don't get your point.
cheers weeal :-)
well you cant just go calling someone 'mad' for their opinion on the thread, chill we all chip our thoughts in and the subject isnt Afghanistan

It will turn into a Scotty bashing yet again
weeal......never mind.
Only good thing to come out of this whole debacle is that we might get rid of the SNP next election - they are a total embarrasment.

Totally agree with weeal - I don't know anyone who is in favour of the decision made - McAskill was stupid to get himself in a position where he felt forced to make a decison.

And having said all that, the americans are annoying me with their total two faced ness of opening their doors to Gerry Adams and then shouting about what McAskill has done (much as I agree that the decision was totally wrong)

As for GB - as has been said - simply waiting to see how the land lay before commiting himself.

hi Annie (waves)
dancairo...have been rightly rapped over the knuckles by weeal for calling you mad...I apologise.

My point was that for a man who was waging a worldwide war against terrorism, it was odd that he was silent for so long.

That's it really.
Hey weeal - how's things? - glad to see you fighting our corner - much as I have always been proud to be a Scot - I am starting to find my nationality a bit embarrasing :o(

dancairo...you deserved the apology.
hey annie, fine thanks hope youre well, yep I also feel the same but to be honest the whole of the UK affronts me - not just Scotland
I know what you mean weeal - but where else could we go? You just don't get this weather anywhere else......ha ha.
