university fees

My daugher is taking her GCSEs this year and plans after A levels to go to uni to study Law. I am divorced from her father and and live with my partner who works in the construction industry. My wages from part time work barely reach £300 a month. I get a small amount from a flat that I rent out but by the time I've paid my mortgage, ground rent and fees the profit is about £50 a month.My ex husbands income is considerably more than mine. A friend has scared me to death saying tuition fees for her daughters uni were £5000 a year I know I could never afford this. Do you get any assistance and could they take my partners income into account although he is not my daughter's dad. Also what if my ex husband refuses to pay towards my daughters uni fees? She would never forgive me if I couldn't afford to send her and her dad can do no wrong in her eyes

At the moment student finance extends a loan, which your daughter will have to repay when she gets to work.

This open to all, my daughter, whom I couldn't affird the fees for, has gone off this week and estmates that after tuition and room fees she will owe £15,000 in three years.

The onus doesn't fall on you, don't worry.
