Likely Outcomes - Cannabis Production and Supply
What would be the likely outcome for a 22 year old man, charged with the production of cannabis and intent to supply cannabis. Police seized 681 grams of cannabis and £4000 cash. Only other conviction is a driving one. Police also siezed equiptment related to growing cannabis and can prove that he has been doing this for a number of years (aprox 6). This is going to the magistrates next Friday then he has been advised that it will be passed onto the crown courts. He intends to plead guilty to production, but not supply.
Also what is the likely outcome for the mother of the above? she has been charged with allowing the production of cannabis in her home and (I think) accessory to the production of cannabis, both of which she will plead guilty to, she has no previous convictions.

Someone more knowledgeable will probably be along who can tell you the likely length of sentences and fine amounts.

Thanks again EDDIE I don't think they're taking this at all seriously, and I *think* they intend to rely on legal aid which I am shocked my mother qualifies for. She also wants the case to be heard at the crown court, though I don't understand why! She stands to lose a hell of a lot if this goes the way you think it will.

I've just checked the calculator, my brother would qualify as he has nothing, no job, no assets, no dependants, but my mum won't qualify (and rightly so). They have a solicitor who has been acting for them since they were arrested several months ago, he is advising my mum to request that her case is heard at the crown court. I just wish there was something I could do to make her see sense! Is there a document I could show her, some sentencing guidlines for this type of case?
