Yet another story of a huge compensation claim, or a fair claim due to the severity of the attack?

Not so much the severity of the attack but the consequences of it. If the young man has suffered brain injuries he would need that amount, maybe more, because his prospects for a decent job are practically zero.
it doesnt say what care the child requires to live a normal life, that could be claimed for somewhere perhaps.

But no-one knew that this level of crime would be committed, did they? did the parents leave him there knowing that he was being bullied so much? could they have prevented it? could the school, seing as the attackers werent from that school?

I have to say that unless this child requires medical help or has been severely hindered if life then i can see why £1m is requested by the family.
He's 15 with brain damage - if he lives to 75 that's £45 a day

If he needs nursing assistance and other help then that doesn't seem an unreasonable amout to claim
jake....?£4.75/day.................but I'm no mathematician
I think it is impossible to say whether it is fair or not. How damages for pain suffering and loss of amenity are valued depend on so many factors such as the nature of the injury, how permanent, whether it will cause degeneration or loss of life expectancy, the effect on every day life, whether care is needed, his prospects on the labour market are just some of the factors. There will undoubtedly have been extremely detailed medical reports before any quantification of the claim is attempted.
Stick to medicine, sqad lol.

£45 a day
red/jake........I bow down to greater intellect. I made it 50yrs and of course it was 60 yrs........sqad goes slinking away.
Now was that 20mg or 200mg in your prescription ;c)
P.S I did say that I was "no mathematician"........;-)
;-)..........don't push it jake.........!!
