It just had to happen, I am surprised it hasn't happened sooner.
Can I hear the Lawyers at the Tower's gates, queueing up to take on her compensation claim?

Women are doing many of the jobs previously thought to be men's work, but don't forget, they did during the war too - truck driving, spitfire delivery , operating heavy engineering plant etc etc. But is should apply both ways as I mentioned above where women will accept a male doctor but not a male midwife........ Some men too find talking about some male complaints to a female doctor difficul, but is there any room for such sentiment in our PC society?
"One would most likely find that this horseplay has taken place between male Beefeaters for centuries.
After all they are all old soldiers, who in their long service, have had to endure much worse than this."
It's the same as any accusation of bullying or harrassment in the armed forces - the same old people trot out the same excuse that that's just the culture in the services, it's tough, it's what makes them great, it's not a place for political correctness, and it shouldn't be policed.
Why do servicemen think they're immune to basic human decency? The only conclusion - seriously, the only conclusion - is because so many of them are deeply, deeply thick.

The men (ahem) who bullied this person should be ashamed and are not fit to guard the crown.
There are criteria to be met in jobs such as the fire service, the applicant has to demonstrate the ability to carry somebody of a certain a specified distance or over specified obstacles in full breathing gear.
I work with some real fatties, you'd need a dozen firemen to lift em.
When the Titanic sank, The Suffragette movement denounced the women who got in the boats instead of the men saying that they should have refused to demonstrate their equal value.
The Russians never had a problem with the fighting efficacy of women during The Great Patriotic War (WW 2 to us) on one occasion the women went into fight when the men wouldn't (perhaps they felt they had more to prove), similarly the Poles of the second republic had no problem with women fighting during the short war with The People's Republic Of Ukraine and the Battle Of Lemberg (later renamed Lvov, I think it has since been handed to Ukraine and renamed, again, Lviv). I have no serious objection to women soldiering in the front line, if that's what they want.
The question any woman seeking to fight in the front line is not are you willing to kill for your country?
It's not are you willing to die for your country?
It is are you willing to risk getting raped for your country?
History teaches us that war and rape tend to run together very closely, ask T.E Lawrence.

///because so many of them are deeply, deeply thick////
I suppose that the latest soldier to be killed trying to defuse that bomb in Afghanistan, was also deeply thick for allowing himself to be killed in such a way.
The likes of you make me deeply sick, do you not know how to show any respect for our armed forces?

I think the armed forces would be among the first to admit that they're not the most sharpest tools in the box.
But anyway I made that conclusion not from them getting killed in the line of duty but from them being literally unable to help themselves from puerile bullying... to such an extent that many people don't even think it's worth trying to eradicate. It's part and parcel of life in the forces, people say. Which is another way of saying there's simply no teaching them.

There are things that go in the army that they find funny, but anyone else outside that culture finds (at best) bemusing, freckles etc.
There is a difference between bullying and banter, banter is when the jokes are flying around and everyone's getting it every now and again it's your turn, bullying is when one person (or a minority group of persons) is picked on to the exclusion of others.
Added to that you have to include taste and decency, some things are quite beyond the pail and are not fair game.
These men are a disgrace to the Beefeaters and are not fit to guard the crown.

Blimey, is this some kind of conspiracy?
