Did anyone see the article in the mirror today regarding the person's that nearly lost his / her life? when a tree dropped on their bonnet. what's your views on Councils in their fantastic bullshit wisdom planting trees on the pavements so close to the edge of the road.
I remember the 'Allo 'Allo guy nearly getting killed when a road sign blew over and when through his windscreen.....can't exactly move those from the side of the road........
I did not ask for smart arse answers Sandy, I presume you do not have a Pavement in front of your house causing damage to the pavement, or going in the direction of you drains for water.
I live in what is termed a Garden Village......really an estate built in the 60's but in the countryside.......when finished each house had a tree planted in the front garden......they look beautiful when all the blossom is out...
If a tree is big enough to have caused that kind of damage, then it was most likely planted when there were far fewer cars on the road. Try to enjoy the trees instead of being so grumpy.
It is actually very rare for trees to blow down. It needs exceptional circumstances. Such circumstances that can also cause roofs to blow off houses, brick walls to tumble etc. What would you have us do. Get rid of anything that might cause danger. Sad world that would be!
